My tea goes cold too fast
The pot is lukewarm by the second cup, or the tea never seemed properly hot to begin with.
Likely cause
A cold vessel. A heavy pot takes heat out of the water on contact, in proportion to its mass, before the steep even starts.
Try this now
Fill your pot with boiling water, wait five minutes, tip it out, then brew as normal. If the tea is noticeably hotter, the pot was the problem.
What to change
Pre-warm every time, keep the lid on, and take the leaf out before covering the pot with a cosy. A double-walled vessel outperforms everything else measured.
The reason behind it

Ten seconds of hot water in the empty pot buys you ten degrees.
