My tea won't run clear
The cup looks hazy or milky, most often once it has cooled, even though the leaf and the steep look right.
Likely cause
Haze that appears as the cup cools is usually tea cream, which is normal and happens in any water. Hardness is the thing to suspect when the cup is cloudy while still hot, or when the haze is much heavier than you are used to.
Test it at your sink
Check inside your kettle after a few uses. A chalky white crust on the element or walls points to hard water rather than the tea.
What to change
Brew the same leaf with filtered or bottled low-mineral water side by side and see if the cup clears.
